POSTER DESIGN
GDES Inspired POster
This project was to create a poster of the occupation I feel most passionate in to showcase my profession in the industry. I used what I learned from the history of graphic design and combined it with the use of the polygonal method to create a colourful, creative, and detailed representation of my passion and specialty.
Tools:
purpose
To design a creative poster fully inspired by your occupation you feel highly passionate in.
Target audience
The target audience will be focusing on both genders aged 19-50, as the concept for this is mainly for those who are nearing or starting college/university to achieve their chosen occupation.
Design strategy
Taking advantage of the polygonal method to form half of the poster, such as letters and combining icons with them.
colour
Colour will vary in this poster, which is perfect to define colour theory. The four adobe tools will have their respective colours: orange, blue, magenta, and pink. The “Graphic Design” word mark will use different shades of black and grey to avoid clashing in with the background and the tool colours at the same time
typography
The main typeface I used was a thick serif font because because it was easier for me to be creative with the shapes when forming the letters and using icons for others. This project was the first time I used the “Create Outlines” tool in typography so I wanted to take advantage of that whilst doing this stage.
